In 2008, the Bonita Springs Lions Club elected to commit its resources to the creation of a free, independent Eye Clinic.
The Club has been a leader in funding eye care in Lee and Collier counties, as well as surrounding areas. The Clinic is an important expansion to its mission.
The facility, which is house on the campus of the Bonita Springs Lions Club, provides comprehensive eye care for adults and children who fall below 200% of the federal poverty level and are uninsured.
There are many reasons for checking your ocular health, but it’s especially important for children who are diagnosed with Amblyopia (lazy eye) or Strabismus (crossed eyes). The clinic has specific programs to test and treat these conditions s hose children will have successful experiences as they progress through their additional years.
To provide state-of-the-art, no cost refractive, medical and surgical eye care as well as optical and glasses for the growing number of medically indigent people in Southwest Florida. Our goal is o improve the quality of life of those who cannot afford eye care by diagnosing and treating visual and related ocular medical conditions.
